The Complete GMAT Guide: 445 practice questions and 3 timed mocks
445 practice questions for the GMAT as it is now
All three sections: Quant, Verbal and Data Insights. Written from GMAC's own documents.
A third of your score, and 25 free questions in the world
Data Insights is 20 of the 64 questions on the GMAT and one of the three scores that make up your Total, weighted exactly the same as Quant and Verbal. It is also the section the prep market serves worst.
Here is every official Data Insights question that is free on the open web, without an account:
| Question format | Free official questions |
|---|---|
| Data Sufficiency | 2 |
| Multi-Source Reasoning | 8 |
| Table Analysis | 3 |
| Graphics Interpretation | 4 |
| Two-Part Analysis | 5 |
| GMAT Mini Quiz | 3 |
| Total | 25 |
Twenty-five questions, for a section that is 20 questions long. One and a quarter sections' worth of free practice for a third of your score.
Paid does not fix it either. GMAC sells exactly two products that are specifically Data Insights, and its own dedicated Data Insights book prints practice questions for two of the five formats. Multi-Source Reasoning, Table Analysis and Graphics Interpretation have zero printed questions, in every edition, because they sit behind a one-time online code attached to a book purchase.
The exam changed. Most of what is being sold did not.
| What the market still sells | What the current exam is |
|---|---|
| Sentence Correction drills | Removed. Verbal is Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning, and GMAC states it "does not test vocabulary or grammar" |
| Data Sufficiency as a Quant topic | Data Sufficiency is a Data Insights format. Quant is Problem Solving only, 21 questions, no calculator |
| "Integrated Reasoning does not count" | It became Data Insights, and it is a full third of a Total Score that runs 205 to 805 |
| "Skip the hard one, come back to it" | GMAC's Official Guide 2026-2027: "you cannot skip questions." There is a Review and Edit screen instead, and it eats your remaining section time |
| A geometry syllabus | GMAC does not name geometry anywhere in its published Quant scope. You get what the source actually says, and what it does not settle |
So we wrote the practice ourselves
Every question here was written for this guide, and every answer was worked twice, independently, before it was printed.
| # | What you get | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Quant, 195 pages | 125 Problem Solving questions, every one worked, plus a timed 21 question mock |
| 2 | Verbal, 268 pages | 80 Critical Reasoning questions and 20 full passages carrying 72 questions, plus a timed 23 question mock |
| 3 | Data Insights, 255 pages | 168 questions across all five formats, plus a timed 20 question mock |
| 4 | Practice for the formats nobody drills | 36 Multi-Source Reasoning, 24 Table Analysis, 24 Graphics Interpretation. The world's free official supply for these three is fifteen questions |
| 5 | Three timed mocks | 21, 23 and 20 questions at 45 minutes each. Sat together, that is the whole exam |
| 6 | Every wrong option explained | Not just the correct letter. Each wrong choice is the answer a specific named mistake produces, and the explanation tells you which thought led there |
| 7 | The no-calculator chapter | Quant gives you no calculator. Decomposing multipliers and reversing percentages is a trainable skill, and almost nobody teaches it |
| 8 | Pacing, per section | 2 minutes 8 seconds a question in Quant, 1:57 in Verbal, 2:15 in Data Insights, and what the Review and Edit screen really costs you |
| 9 | A study plan for each section | Six to eight weeks, written for someone who is working, with an error log and a rule for not burning your official questions on drill |
| 10 | Test day, and the rules that cost marks | Prohibited items, the optional break, and the logistics people meet cold |
718 pages. 445 practice questions. Three timed mocks. Instant download.
Five things the internet is telling you that are wrong
We checked what is circulating against GMAC's own documents. These five are repeated widely enough to cost you marks or money.
| # | What they say | What the official source says |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | "Skip it and come back at the end" | GMAC's Official Guide, Chapter 1: "Because the computer uses your answers to choose your next question, you cannot skip questions." The advice is inherited from the retired four-section exam |
| 2 | "Cancel the score if the day goes badly" | Score Preview and test taker cancellation are gone. GMAC: "There is no need to cancel your GMAT exam score." |
| 3 | "Buy the Enhanced Score Report to see your breakdown" | It is not a paid product any more. The official score report now carries seven analytics charts at no cost |
| 4 | "Data Insights is four of each type" and similar splits | GMAC says the mix is fixed and has never published it. Every per-type count in the market is the vendor's own invention, and the mock in here states its own mix as an estimate |
| 5 | "You only get eight attempts in your lifetime" | No lifetime cap is in current policy. What is actually enforced: 16 days between attempts, five in a rolling 12 months |
Every claim has a source. Every one.
102 sources, and every fact about the exam comes from GMAC itself: mba.com, gmac.com, and the Official Guide text.
Where GMAC has never published something, you are told so rather than sold a guess. Every section ends with a chapter called "What nobody actually knows", and it is a real list: how the 20 Data Insights questions split by format, the Reading Comprehension to Critical Reasoning ratio, the number of unscored experimental items, the raw to scaled conversion, and whether the Data Insights calculator is basic or scientific, on which GMAC's own pages contradict each other.
You are buying prep that admits what it does not know. That is the whole point.
Who this is for
Anyone sitting the current GMAT for an MBA or a masters intake, in India or abroad
Anyone who has finished the official material and has run out of questions, which happens faster than people expect
Anyone whose Data Insights score is the one holding the Total down, which is most people, because it is the section with the least practice available
Not for you if you are sitting the GRE, or preparing for the older four-section GMAT. This covers the current exam only: three sections, 64 questions, 2 hours 15 minutes.
